Ilisys runs two different types of web servers.

One type is based on the Linux operating system and uses the Apache web serving software. These provide the ability to use software such as Dreamweaver and the MySQL database and to program complex websites in languages such as PHP and Perl.

Ilisys Linux servers are all clustered, meaning each website is hosted on many servers at once. Clustered hosting means that:

Your site will stay online if hardware fails;

Your site will not be affected by extreme server load;

We are able to perform regular security upgrades to our servers without affecting your website.

Ilisys also maintains Microsoft Windows 2000 based web servers, which run the IIS web serving software. These allow the use of tools such as Microsoft Frontpage, Microsoft Access and Microsoft SQL Server and to program in ASP, .NET or ColdFusion.
