About your Toolkit
Your Toolkit is an online facility designed to help you manage your hosting service. It can be found at https://toolkit.ilisys.com.au.

You can also visit any page on ilisys.com.au and click Toolkit Login.

Account Manager access
Accessing the Toolkit as Account Manager, you'll be able to manage each of your hosting packages as well as details of your account with Ilisys. An Account Manager may upgrade existing packages or add new ones.

Your Account Manager username is your account's primary email address.

Read more about Account Managers here.

Package Manager access
Accessing the Toolkit as Package Manager, you are able to manage information that is specific to that hosting package.

Your Package Manager username is that package's primary domain name (without the www.).

Read more about Package Managers here.

Email accounts
An email account is an email mailbox, accessed with username and password. Email is delivered to your this account and stored there until you log in and check it, using either the POP or IMAP protocol.

The usernames and passwords that you will use to access your email accounts may be found on the View/change passwords page of your Toolkit.

Email addresses
For people to send email to your email account, you need to have at least one email address. An email address is takes the format name@your-domain.com.

Here is a list of sample email addresses that you might use:
    sales@your-domain.com
    support@your-domain.com
    jobs@your-domain.com
Your Toolkit provides you with tools to create email addresses, and to configure what email account each address will deliver mail to.

For instance, you will be able to have sales@your-domain.com deliver mail to an Ilisys email account, an email account provided by your ISP, or a webmail address provided by companies like Google, Yahoo and Hotmail.

Every domain has a special email address - the 'default address'. This address can never be removed as it performs a vital role. Any mail sent to a non-existent address at your domain will be delivered to this default address.

Email vacation messages
Vacation messages allow you to send automated replies to emails sent to any of your email addresses. Your Toolkit allows you to create, edit and delete vacation messages.

Using webmail
If you have chosen to add Ilisys email accounts to your hosting package, Ilisys webmail lets you send, receive and manage your email from a web browser.

Ilisys webmail is similar to the webmail accounts offered by Google, Hotmail and Yahoo but has a distinct advantage: emails that you send will appear to have come from an address at your domain.

You can access Ilisys webmail by visiting http://webmail.ilisys.com.au.

Setting up FTP access
File Transfer Protocol (FTP) is the method you will use to transfer files to your space at Ilisys. You will need an FTP program - if you do not have one, read this Support Centre article.

For your FTP program to make a connection to the Ilisys FTP servers, it will need three pieces of information.
    Address: www.your-domain.com
FTP User: listed in your hosting information email
FTP Password: listed in your hosting information email
If you need to upload your site but your domain name is not yet active, contact Technical Support (support@ilisys.com.au or 1800 995 645). We'll create a temporary web address for your use as a short term solution. As soon as your domain name is delegated for your use, you should use your own domain name.

Removing the Hosting Information page
Until you upload your website, you will see a default hosting information page when you navigate to your web address.

If you would like to remove this page, delete the files in your www/ directory. Be careful not to delete the www directory itself.

Managing your files
Generally speaking, the contents of your web site must reside inside your www/ directory.

When a request is made for your website, our server will look for an index page. An index page is the front page of your website and must have one of several names in order for your site to be served correctly. index.html is the most common name for an index page, but advanced web designers might need to use one of these:
    index.phtml
    index.php
    index.php3
    index.html
    index.shtml
    index.htm
    INDEX.HTM
    index.cgi
    index.wml
Please note, our server will look for your index page in the order listed above, so if you have a file called index.html and another called index.htm, index.html would always be displayed when people visit your site.

Using the CGI-Bin directory
You will find a CGI-BIN directory in your space. If you intend for your website to run any scripts, they must be placed inside this directory.

Common scripting paths
Listed below are the paths to some common files and services:
    perl /usr/bin/perl (we currently run v. 5.6)
    sendmail /usr/lib/sendmail
    time /usr/bin/time
    date /bin/date
    whois /usr/bin/fwhois domain@whois.ilisys.com.au
If you need any other paths, please contact Technical Support (support@ilisys.com.au or 1800 995 645).

Using MySQL databases
If you have chosen the MySQL database option with your hosting package, you may run a MySQL database.
MySQL username: listed in your hosting information email
MySQL password: listed in your hosting information email
MySQL database name: your MySQL user, suffixed with _db
MySQL host name: your domain name, prefixed with mysql. (eg mysql.mydomain.com.au)
While your web designer or programmer is responsible for the content and operation of your database, we are happy to assist as time allows. Please contact Technical Support (support@ilisys.com.au or 1800 995 645).

Using a shared SSL certificate
If you have chosen the Shared Cert SSL option with your hosting package, you are free to make use of a shared SSL certificate.

If you would like to have files transferred to our secure server, load the files to a directory in the root level of your space named secure_transfer then contact Technical Support (support@ilisys.com.au or 1800 995 645) to request a file transfer.

Our support team will look over your files to check for any security issues and copy the files to our secure server for your use.

If you would like to maintain your own SSL certificate, contact Technical Support (support@ilisys.com.au or 1800 995 645).

Urchin 5 statistics
To view your Urchin 5 site statistics, access http://urchin.ilisys.com.au as either Account Manager or Package Manager.

As Package Manager, you will be able to view statistics for the hosting package that you manage.

As Account Manager, you will have access to all statistics for all packages on an account. You will also have access to a summary report, comparing the activity on each package.

Urchin By Email
Unique to Ilisys, Urchin By Email allows you to keep tabs on your site's performance when you are too busy to routinely access your live reports.

Subscribers to Urchin By Email receive detailed performance reports in their inbox each Monday morning. Urchin By Email keeps you appraised of traffic sources and visitor behaviour - essential information for any site owner.

When you create a new hosting package, a basic set of Urchin By Email reports will be created by default.

Hourly backups & SnapRestore
Ever hour, we take a 'Snapshot' of every Linux hosted website and database. 30 of these backups are available at all times, covering the most recent 24 hours, and the 6 preceding midnights.

Further, your data is backed up to tape at midnight. These tape backups are stored for 7 days.

Using the SnapRestore feature in your Toolkit, you may roll a site back to any of thirty states within minutes.

To action a Free SnapRestore simply select their timezone and the point in time that they want to roll back to. Shortly after the request is received by the automated SnapRestore system, the restore is processed and a confirmation email delivered.
